The youth work services and facilities accompany and support children and young people on their path to independence, and youth counseling is also provided here. There is a youth center in every planning area in Jena; street social work is offered in Winzerla, Lobeda and Jena-Zentrum; facilities for open work with children can be found in Lobeda and Winzerla.

Educational child and youth protection includes the preventative protection of young people from harmful influences, substances and actions. The city of Jena offers young people and parents/guardians services and advice on child and youth protection.

School social work supports young people to compensate for social disadvantages or to overcome individual impairments. The services are intended to help prevent and reduce educational disadvantages. Young people and parents/guardians can find advice and help at the school social work locations.

As part of its specialist advice, the City of Jena's youth work/youth social work team advises and supports youth work institutions and organizations, school social work, youth association work and street social work in matters of quality and concept development.

Advice and help from the youth employment agency

The Youth Employment Agency is a joint contact and advice center for young people who have questions about school, career or study choices, are looking for a job or need support in current problem situations. Experts from the employment agency, case managers from the U25 area of the jenarbeit job center and youth vocational assistance work together here.
