Social space conferences

What is a social space conference?

A social space conference is an event format in which people from a specific part of the city - i.e. citizens, associations, social services - come together with politicians and the administration to discuss living together in this social space. These conferences are to take place at regular intervals in all of Jena's planning areas.

"WerkStadt - Living in Jena North"

The first social area conference of the city of Jena will take place in the North planning area. This planning area comprises the districts of:

• Jena-Nord,
• Kunitz / Laasan,
• Löbstedt and
• Zwätzen.

The aim is to work together with stakeholders and people from the social area to discuss which services and structures are already working well and in which areas there are still needs that can be managed by the city administration.

Among other things, the results of the impulse event on the further development of networking structures in the social space on 15.10.2024 form the basis for this. You can find the documentation under Downloads.

When, where and what?

The conference will take place on 13.12.2025 from 10:00 to 16:00 at the Christliches Gymnasium, Altenburger Straße, 07743 Jena.

In addition to numerous information stands and hands-on activities, there will be one-hour workshops to ask questions, discuss and gather ideas.

The main topics planned are

• Vibrant neighborhood,
• Health & Care,
• Leisure, culture & sport and
• urban development & infrastructure.

Admission is free, refreshments will be provided and there will be childcare. The venue is barrier-free. Registration is not required, but the number of participants per workshop is limited to a maximum of 20 people.

• Moving together - 01.10.2025, 15:00 - 18:00 at the "Zeitzer Straße" playground

Draw your Jena North with pen, paper and heart

• Drawing competition for everyone from 0 - 18 years, 04.10. - 19.11.2025
• Works of art can be submitted online via the web form (see links) and in the deadline letterbox at Am Anger 15. We will add further drop-off points in the northern area shortly.
